On November 25th, Kiss performed the closing concert for their “35 Alive” tour at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Like most Kiss concerts it was full of awesome pyrotechnics and dazzling performances, but unlike most concerts it was all streamed live via Ustream. Many fans who couldn’t make it to the show were able to watch it live from the comfort of their computers. It turned out to be quite a success with 1.1 million viewers and an average viewing time of 43 minutes. [Silicon Alley Insider]
While watching from a computer is nothing like going to a live event, technology is now allowing artists to give all those fans that couldn’t make it, a little taste of what they missed. Sure Kiss is a big name and they’re able to pull big name sponsors, but that doesn’t mean that we all can’t learn from this great utilization of a new technology becoming very popular.
