Here’s the 3rd part (part 1 and part 2) of our awesome interview with Lainie Copicotto. In this part we get a change of scenery and some insights into how Lainie still uses the “old school” PR tools that most believe to have gone the wayside. The fact is, picking up the phone still works wonders.
Here goes…
And for some of our favorite quotes:
I think that people are, kind of, probably getting away from, from tangible, you know like your magazines, your newspapers, its almost easier to get a blogger to talk about you. But, it’s necessary and I think that, every true publicist goes for, you know, the Rolling Stone, not only Rolling Stone but Spin, Filter, you know, as far as that. But I’m finding a lot more lifestyle magazines are getting into this great culture.
I like going into like Shape [magazine], you know and they have like the little playlists and you’ll see like ten different kinds of DJ’s, that are on there. But we do have like 128-135 bpm, so it’s good for the heart rate.
Television’s still great. I mean, I think there was one DJ who was on a couple of Bravo reality shows. But, you can’t just stop. It’s still about getting exposure for your client, whether it’s a blog or tv, or video, you know some people just stop at one different thing. But, we try to get them wherever we can.
