To keep the GigLog content churning, we spend a lot of time reading through Electronic Music Blogs and other music blogs. Whether you’re just starting out, or you’re a seasoned veteran, Electronic Music Blogs – GigLog included! – are a great way to keep up with the latest track or remix releases, artist collaborations, industry trends and new music marketing techniques from the best and the brightest in the industry. If you take a look around, you’ll quickly notice that there are countless blogs out there and it’s probably overwhelming trying to figure out which ones to follow. So we thought it’d be helpful to create a list of our top 10 Electronic Music Blogs.

1. Resident Advisor: RA publishes news, reviews and features. Plus thousands of artist and label profiles—and even more user-generated event and club listings—have made RA an invaluable resource to both the clued-up music lover and the clubgoer simply looking for a good night out.

2. Resonant Vibes: A Electronic Music Blog/Community dedicated to sharing quality electronic music with the world by uniquely blending the elements of a digital music store and a free, content-based site.

3. HypeBot: Covering Music, Technology and the New Music Business never seemed so easy. Hypebot gives you the quick scoop on all this happening in the space. Awesome place to skim the news and get a general sense of what’s making the news on any given day.

4. Earworm on DJDownload.com: This one is better left described by the DJdownload team: “It’s our online mag thingy where we can talk about tunes we like, studio gear we fantasise about, post events, interviews, random drivel and vulgar videos we find on YouTube and of course bitch about people because we can.because we can.” Sounds awesome!

5. BPM Magazine: The writers at BPM Magazine cover a little more than just Electronic Dance Music. They “provide fresh coverage on progressive music, nightlife, consumer technology, gaming, art and fashion.”

6. Passive Promotion by Brian Hazard of Color Theory: focuses on “set it and forget it” methods of music promotion, along with a few tips on mixing, brought to you by a mastering engineer and recording artist.

7. Prefix Mag: The go-to resource for anything Music related. They have a constant stream of news and updates that will be sure to keep you occupied and informed.

8. Stereogum: Stereogum was one of the first MP3 blogs and remains the leading online community for independent and alternative music news, downloads, and videos. Its audience includes passionate music fans and industry folks. They’re best known for their regularly featuring unknown artists who go on to become mainstream sensations.

9. Creative Deconstruction: Managed by Refe Tuma, this blog is dedicated to in-depth music industry news and commentary.

10. Gen-Y Rock Stars: The last blog on our list covers in depth marketing and promotional techniques that aim to help a growing group of musicians navigate through online tools to create a lifestyle based on their passions and dreams. A great resource if you’re just starting out.
